I love the art style

Awesome, so happy to hear that!

Seems like it will be a good game, but I'm having some controller issues.When using an Xbox controller it doesn't allow me to change suits. When trying to change from blue to red it just shows the change animation but I stay blue. Works fine on keyboard.

Finally finished it! That was a fun platformer. I really like the wall-cling mechanic; it completely changes how we look at platforming, and made the game in general a lot more forgiving. I enjoyed being able to just walk around most obstacles. The suit change mechanic was neat, too. I feel you got a lot out of simple mechanics.

I'm disappointed there isn't more to the story, though. There's this whole racism theme that's even ingrained in the mechanics, but it just goes completely ignored by the protagonist. What did the triangles do to piss off the hairies so much?

I've run into a strange bug where, after finishing a level, the game gets stuck on a loading screen indefinitely. This first happened after finishing suburb 3; I had 2 reassemblies and kept 1 token. My operating system is Windows 10.

Edit: Stopping and restarting the game through the task manager allows me to start the next level through the main menu, but it keeps happening seemingly at random. Some levels will load fine, some get stuck for some reason.

It's a shame, because I am enjoying the game otherwise, but it's hard to progress with the bug in the way.

Hi, thanks for the report! Tough one, I have some idea what could cause this but it's difficult to pin down exactly without a snapshot of the freeze. Could you create a process dump for me? When the game is stuck, open Task Manager, right-click On Rusty Trails (might be called integrate.exe) and select "Create dump file". It's probably a couple hundred MB so it won't be e-mail friendly, maybe you could upload it to WeTransfer or something like that? (ZIP with password if you worry about leaking secrets, but usually there's nothing in there that identifies you except for local paths to your user directory.) A dxdiag.txt for your PC could also help. You can email stuff over to us: support@blackpants.de

Sorry about the inconvenience, and again, thanks for the heads up!

Sent via Dropbox to your support email.

Received, thanks a bunch. I'll report back as soon as I have something.

The dump you sent me shows that your machine has 2 CPU cores, the freeze might be related to that. Please find a file called "settings.ini" in the install directory. If it's not there please make an empty one. Add the following 3 lines:

[Threading]
workers = 4
enabled = true

If that doesn't fix the problem, try "enabled = false" as the last line instead, I'm pretty confident that will fix the freeze, but unfortunately it will also make performance worse. Apparently we have a bug which is triggered with less than 3 workers, which isn't going to be easy to fix, so I don't think we can put out a patch very soon.

Please let me know if you see any changes, it's appreciated!

That seems to have worked! Thanks!

One other issue: In City 008, it's possible to bypass the cutscene where the worker warns you about the falling blobs by walking underneath the starting platform.

This is a very interesting game, but why the game always lunches in Chinese? is there any way to turn it back to English?

You can softlock on the last boss if you somehow end up with less than 3 heart boxes to destroy on the final phase. Had to look up a lets play to see that the boss should have died when all the boxes were destroyed. Otherwise, excellent.

That's too bad, we never caught that apparently. I'll look into it. Thanks for the report, and glad you liked the game :)

This also happened to me.

Jump & Run with a very interesting setting. You are a robot that lost its home due to an unfortunate incident and are on the way to request a replacement for your home with the respective agency. As you can freely stick to any surface, the level design offers unique platforming possibilities. The game has a distinct art style and seems simple enough at first, but quickly adds a new mechanic to change between two modes to avoid respective damage types. Those mechanics arent new, but the game iterates smartly on them. 3,5/5

Whether you’re here in general or specifically from the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality, take note: this game’s a hidden gem, a clever twitch platformer that’ll get you thinking on your toes (and a surprisingly poignant story, to boot). You won’t regret trying it out if you don’t mind a challenge ❤️
